The Makeup I'm Still Wearing

Make up-free days are having a real moment, and that makes total sense, but in all honesty it’s not a trend I’ve been jumping on. Even when I have nowhere to be and no one to see, putting on a little bit of make up brigthens my day. It’s a part of my normal routine that I love and it’s one of the quickest ways to make me feel ready for the day, plus, it’s fun. This edit is quicker to do and much lighter than previously but the products that I am using are ones I totally love and have got to be half-decent if they’re still what I’m reaching for.

The Glossier Stretch Concealer deserves every ounce of hype it receives and has quickly become one of my favourite beauty products. It’s lightweight, hydrating and gives the most gorgeous glow so it’s perfect if you’re after a natural look. There is some slight creasing under the eyes throughout the day but I’d rather that than dryness. With a small brush this buffs into the skin and can be built to cover dark circles or to even skin tone. It’s made me wonder why I ever bothered with foundation.

One thing I’m never going to leave out is bronzer.. The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit (old but their powders are just as amazing) are the only powders that I’ll go near because they blend so well into the skin, have enough radiance to make you look awake and alive but aren’t full of glitter or heavy talc. The bronzer, highlight and blush are the perfect tones, with the bronzer doubling up as the perfect hint of colour over the eyes if I need it.

Other than the fact I’m skipping a bit of eyeshadow here and there, the majority of my eye routine hasn’t changed. I’m still religiously curling my eyelashes daily and I’ll never understand anyone who skips this step - it’s quick, easy, cheap and makes a world of difference. I'm then piling on my latest guilty pleasure, the Hourglass Caution Mascara. Yes it’s expensive, there’s no denying that, but my god is it amazing. The volume is like nothing else, the formula is super black and it doesn’t clump, smudge or drop throughout the day. If you’re a little nervous, like me, then try the travel-sized first but be warned, I haven’t stopped thinking about this mascara. As for brows I’m keeping it simple and generally leaving them to their own devices except the occasional trim and dye job. The CYO Brow Definer helps to make my brows appear that little tidier without filling them with too much product. The waxy formula keeps them in place so I can skip the brow gel and not worry about strays throughout the day either.
